Understanding the credit system
Credits are the currency of AI generation on this platform. Every time you ask the AI to generate or edit content, credits are consumed based on the work done.
What uses credits
- Generating a new presentation
- Regenerating a single slide
- Sending a message in the AI chat panel
- Processing an uploaded context file
Viewing, editing text manually, reordering slides, changing themes, and exporting do not use credits.
How credits are calculated
Credits are based on two factors: (1) the AI model you choose, and (2) the amount of text processed (input tokens) and generated (output tokens). More capable models cost more per token. A typical 10-slide deck uses 50–150 credits depending on the model and prompt length.
Estimating cost before generating
The generation dialog shows an estimated credit cost before you click Generate. This is an estimate — the final cost may be slightly higher or lower depending on how long the AI's output turns out to be.
Tip
Use a faster, lower-cost model for early drafts and switch to a higher-quality model only for the final version. This typically cuts credit usage in half.
Viewing your balance and usage history
Your current credit balance is always visible in the top navigation bar. To see a full history of every generation and how many credits it used, go to Settings → Billing → Usage History.
